Yurii Otruba is the leader of the 29th expedition to the “Academician Vernadsky” station. Yurii is one of Ukraine’s most experienced polar explorers. He has spent eight winters in Antarctica and took part in a seasonal expedition in 2025–2026. He first travelled to Antarctica in 2009.
